Hyperlipidemia

If you have been told you have hyperlipidemia, that generally means that you have too many fats in your blood. Other terms used are “high cholesterol” or “high triglycerides”. Our body makes and uses cholesterol throughout the day. HDL or “good” cholesterol coats our arteries like a protective oil to prevent blockages. If too much LDL or “bad” cholesterol builds up in our bodies, it can cause blockages in our blood stream. This can lead to heart attack, strokes and other health problems.
